Kacey is a stay at home mom to three kids and is now understanding why people say that being a mother is the most wonderful and difficult and amazing job on the planet (although if one more well-meaning empty nester says how quickly time flies and to enjoy it while all three kids are throwing tantrums for candy at checkstand 7 one more time, then she might have to retire early).
Kacey has been married for over 11 years to Steve, who is both handsome and humble (his words, not hers) and loves him more everyday (her words, not his). Having enjoyed a career as a medical assistant, she set aside her career aspirations when her first child was born and she took on the life of a stay at home mama. She hasn’t regretted that decision once, even when finances were stressful (okay, maybe just once). She happily supports her husband’s entrepreneurial endeavors and is very proud of his ability to adapt and provide. Kacey is fiercely devoted to her children and husband and isn’t afraid to go against the popular or easy choice for the sake of her littles. She is bold and follows her convictions.
Like anyone from Texas, Kacey will probably tell you she was raised in the Lone Star State, moving several times to just about every small Texas town yodled from every country song you can conjure (Amarillo…check. Abiline…check. Lubbock…check. Waco…check). Since her move to Utah in 1992, she proudly claims The Beehive State as her home and the place she will raise her family.
Kacey loves all things “cute and sparkly” and has loved fashion from a very young age (just please never look at her wardrobe choices during the awkward years…you know, age 9 to 29). As she has raised her children, finding a bargain on home goods and clothing is just one degree away from becoming a sport for her. Kacey has eclectic interests, ranging from exploring small islands in the Caribbean to curling up with her hubby and Netflixing waaaaay past bedtime.
Kacey loves to read anything from The Help to witty autobio’s a la Leah Remini and has a new obsession with Audible (you guys, seriously, it’s a mom’s best friend!). She loves Fixer Upper, home decorating, and all things “farmhouse chic”. To her, there is nothing more satisfying than a good before and after. She and her oldest daughter can get lost in a sea of You Tube Disney hair and makeup tutorials and have tried out as many as they’ve seen (they could probably start their own You Tube channel of tutorial fails!).
Kacey is silly and sometimes irreverent but is deeply spiritual. Through the adversity that has passed through her life, she has had the great blessing of a personal connection to her Maker and attempts to honor that connection by the way she lives her life and raises her children. She admits she is far from perfect and is always looking for ways to improve, especially as a wife and mother. She says her kids would probably like to trade her in for a more experienced model, but says that they are stuck with the Beta version. Kacey loves contributing to Mommy High Five and enjoys the friendships that have stemmed from her affiliation with this wonderful resource for mamas.
